Facts checked on 2026-09-19 from the live store listings and websites listed under Sources. Store prices are the India storefront labels exactly as shown. We make Expense Tracker, so read this as the maker's comparison — the places where Goodbudget is better are listed first.
Goodbudget is excellent if you and a partner want to run envelope budgets together across devices. In India its bank sync does not apply and Premium is priced in dollars, so Expense Tracker is the cheaper offline option for a single user who wants budgets plus EMIs and splits.

"Not published" means we could not find the fact on the developer's own listing or website on 2026-09-19. It does not mean the feature is missing. Our own facts come from the app's source code; entries without a citation are from there.
Export your history from Goodbudget first and keep the file. Expense Tracker starts empty: there is no importer built for Goodbudget's backup format. The Pro CSV import is designed for bank-statement exports; a spreadsheet from another app may work if it has date, description and amount columns, but we have not tested Goodbudget's export. Most people simply start fresh on the 1st of a month and keep the old app for reference.
Yes. The free plan has 10 regular and 10 more envelopes, 1 account, 2 devices and 1 year of history. Premium is $10 a month or $80 a year (checked 19 September 2026).
Its automatic bank sync is listed as US banks only and is a Premium feature. In India you enter transactions manually or import QFX/OFX statement files on the website.
Partly. Category budgets with alerts work like envelopes (2 on the free plan, unlimited on Pro), but there is no envelope-funding workflow or household sync as in Goodbudget.
