Money Manager (Realbyte) vs Expense Tracker

Facts checked on 2026-09-19 from the live store listings and websites listed under Sources. Store prices are the India storefront labels exactly as shown. We make Expense Tracker, so read this as the maker's comparison — the places where Money Manager (Realbyte) is better are listed first.

The short answer

Pick Money Manager if you want a mature, ledger-style tracker with lots of free accounts and can live with ads (or pay ₹99 to remove them). Pick Expense Tracker if you want no ads at all plus bill splits, EMIs and a forward cash view, and you are fine with 2 accounts on the free plan.

Where Money Manager (Realbyte) is the better choice

Where Expense Tracker is the better choice

If you switch

Export your history from Money Manager (Realbyte) first and keep the file. Expense Tracker starts empty: there is no importer built for Money Manager (Realbyte)'s backup format. The Pro CSV import is designed for bank-statement exports; a spreadsheet from another app may work if it has date, description and amount columns, but we have not tested Money Manager (Realbyte)'s export. Most people simply start fresh on the 1st of a month and keep the old app for reference.

Questions

Is Money Manager by Realbyte free?

Yes, with ads. The free Android version limits assets (accounts) to 15. A separate "Money Manager (Remove Ads)" app costs ₹99 on Google Play and the App Store in India (checked 19 September 2026).

Does Money Manager sync with my bank?

Realbyte does not publish bank syncing on its store listings. The iOS listing mentions automatically recording expenses for a debit card linked to an account inside the app. Expense Tracker has no bank connection either; both are manual-entry apps at heart.

Which is better for India, Money Manager or Expense Tracker?

Both work in rupees. Money Manager is the better pure ledger with more free accounts; Expense Tracker adds bill splitting, loan and EMI tracking and a 30-day forecast, with no ads on any plan.
